The new President of ANH has assumed his post

Ministry of Mines and Energy. Bogota D.C. September 21st, 2018. The Minister of Mines and Energy, Maria Fernanda Suarez Londoño, has inaugurated the term of Cucuta-born Luis Miguel Morelli Navia as President of the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH).

The new President of ANH is a lawyer from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, with a Master's Degree in Comparative Law from the University of New York, and with studies involving macroeconomic planning and policy at Northeastern University in Boston, United States. Morelli Navia has over 20 years of experience within the oil sector, including executive positions at important Canadian companies and Ecopetrol, among others.

The experience of Luis Miguel Morelli also extends to the public sector. He was the Governor of Norte de Santander between 2004 and 2008.

The new ANH President will have, among other challenges, to bring dynamism and promote investment in order to increase production figures and hydrocarbon reserves.

"With the leadership of the new president of this entity, together with a dedicated team, we shall work for the social and economic development of the country. At the ANH, we are facing important challenges. We trust that Luis Miguel Morelli shall perform his management duties in an excellent manner," said the Minister of Mines and Energy, Maria Fernanda Suarez, during the inauguration of the new official.
