Ministry of Mines and Energy. Bogota D.C. October 05th, 2018. The Ministry of Mines and Energy reports that starting October 06th of 2018, there will be a modification in the reference prices for oil throughout the country. The price for the main 13 cities, with respect to standard motor gasoline, will see an average variation of an additional $119 per gallon, while diesel fuel (ACPM) will experience an average change of plus $104.

The rise of reference prices has been mainly derived from recent increases within the international market for crude oil and refined products, particularly in the U.S. Gulf Coast market, which has recently led to the observation of crude oil prices amount to over 80USD per barrel, and above 88 and 95 USD per barrel for gasoline and diesel fuel, respectively. Likewise, there has been an increase in the currency exchange rate during the last month, with an average monthly raise of about 2.7%

The Ministry of Mines and Energy continues applying a fuel pricing policy based on criteria for efficiency and stability, intending to guarantee quality and fuel provision throughout the entire nation.
