Ministry of Mines and Energy. Bogota D.C. October 18th, 2018. The Ministry of Mines and Energy, reports that the average crude oil production for the month of September 2018 reached 868,704 barrels per day on average, which represents a 1.9% increase compared to the same month of 2017 ( (852,198 barrels) and one of 0.3% with respect to the previous month (866,480 barrels).
This increase was mainly a result of the start of operations at the Andina and Acorazado fields, as well as due to the reactivation of the Austral, Caño Garza, Agapanto and Vikingo fields.
From January to September of 2018, the average crude oil production was 858,897 barrels per day, compared to 851,580 barrels per day for the same period during 2017.
On the other hand, the commercial production of gas for September 2018 reached 962.5 million cubic feet per day, recording a 3.6% rise when compared to September 2017, and a 5.3% decrease next to August 2018. This reduction was caused by a lower demand for gas.
