Crude oil production during October was the highest recorded in the past two years

Ministry of Mines and Energy.  Bogota D.C. November 19th, 2018. Oil production during the month of October reached an average of 878,854 barrels per day, which represents a 1.7% increase compared to the same month of 2017 (863,853 barrels) and a 1.2% increase compared to the previous month (868,704 barrels). This is the highest production figure recorded since June of 2016.

Said increase was mainly the result of production optimization at the Castilla, Chichimene, Akacias, Bacano and Rubiales fields, as well as due to the reactivation of the Lisa and Tronos fields.

During the current part of the year, oil production has reached 869,893 barrels on average per day, compared with the 852,808 barrels corresponding to the same period of 2017.

At the same time, commercial gas production in October reached 953 million cubic feet per day, recording a 3.1% increase compared to the same month of 2017, as well as a 0.98% decrease with respect to the preceding month of September due to a lower demand for gas.
